Delta Air Lines serves in-flight food designed by celebrity chef Todd
English at its new midtown Manhattan lounge, SKY360. The new space is
aimed at frequent fliers, corporate clients and other invitation-only
guest. Delta expects 300 to 1000 other people to walk in off the street
for a meal.

Kraft Foods Inc. today launched several new initiatives to further fuel
the growth trajectory of its proprietary Tassimo hot beverage system.
The first is a new alliance with Starbucks Coffee Company to add select
varieties of its popular Starbucks® coffee to the Tassimo beverage
lineup in the U.S. and Canada. Kraft also announced a new global brewer
alliance with Bosch Household Appliances and more rapid geographic
expansion of popular beverages.

Virgin America announced that it has inked deals with TV Japan,
Venevision International, KBS-America, TVB and Emphasis (Hong Kong) to
supply a wide array of inflight programming in Japanese, Spanish,
Korean, Mandarin and Cantonese. Virgin America's guests will now have
access to the most foreign language films and television entertainment
on any U.S. domestic airline.

Even tobacco companies can make the world a healthier place — or at least former units of them. Targacept, which was spun out of the research division of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco in 2000, announced that it has struck a drug development deal with GlaxoSmithKline worth up to $1.5 billion.

HMSHost Corporation completed the more than $4 million renovation at
Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC.) The renovation was part of
HMSHost’s recently extended food, beverage and retail contract that
runs through 2011. Improvements include upgraded seating in the
airport’s common areas, a new restaurant with local Salt Lake City
history, and the addition of well-known national brands, all of which
will enhance the overall airport experience for SLC travelers.
