ANA To Introduce First Bidet In The Air
All Nippon Airways is the first airline to install bidet-toilets as standard in the 787 Dreamliners it starts flying as of next year. ANA's aim is to attract more of its fastidious home country passengers, where the "washlet" is commonplace.
The toilets are made by the Japanese manufacturer of ceramic sanitary and plumbing hardware Toto Ltd.
A survey sponsored by Japan's Cabinet Office suggests that the bidet-toilet is a standard fixture in about 60 percent of Japanese households.
ANA has 50 B787s on order and is currently weighing up whether to buy 10 or 20 more.
