HMSHost Brings Popular Dining to Copenhagen. Signs Deal with MAX for STO Arlanda

HMSHost Europe - part of the Autogrill Group has been awarded an additional seven-year contract to operate and redevelop four food and beverage locations at Copenhagen Airport. Recently, HMSHost officially opened three other food and beverage locations at Copenhagen Airport, including Starbucks Coffee, Ciao and Burger King.

In another move the company has been awarded an additional 10-year contract for a location in Terminal 4 of the Stockholm Arlanda Airport. HMSHost will develop and operate this location through a new partnership with Sweden's oldest and most popular hamburger chain, MAX.

HMSHost plans to introduce a variety of concepts to the current food and beverage concession plan that will be a welcome addition to airport travelers in Copenhagen. They include:

  • Starbucks Coffee: This second location at Copenhagen Airport will offer branded gourmet coffee beverages, a wide selection of pastries, sandwiches, salads, snacks, and fresh roasted coffee by the pound.
  • Heineken bar: A contemporary bar that will offer a variety of international drinks and the typical Danish delicatessen-like smørrebrøds – the beloved open faced sandwiches - in a stylish Heineken atmosphere.
  • Nørrebro Bryghus: A local branded microbrewery that will pour popular handcrafted Danish beers.
  • Segafredo Coffee Bar: The popular coffee concept will feature the Italian coffee brand Segafredo as well as a full complement of sandwiches and snacks.

At Stockholm's Arlanda Airport HMSHost currently operates eight other food and beverage locations.

MAX is Sweden’s most highly acclaimed hamburger chain with over 50 locations currently operating throughout the country. The family-owned company is the only Swedish hamburger brand that guarantees that they serve only Swedish beef and chicken.  The new MAX location is scheduled to open at the end of 2007.
Anne-Marie Zuidweg, Managing Director of ASDC at Stockholm Arlanda Airport said, “The introduction of MAX will be a welcome addition to the airport’s current range of food and beverage concepts. We are very glad to be extending our partnership with HMSHost—their professionalism combined with this new development will definitely fulfill our customers’ dining expectations.”

“We are very pleased to have the opportunity to introduce this brand to Stockholm Arlanda Airport,” said Walter Seib, Managing Director of HMSHost Europe. “We look forward to a successful relationship with this high quality burger brand, a new and exciting feature of our extensive brand portfolio.”
