Amadeus Predicts Future Travel Trends in New Global Report
Amadeus has launched a new global report that brings together major trends in consumer behavior, geo-economics, politics and technology, to understand what will be the most dominant and interesting groups of travelers in the next 10-15 years.
The travel technology company identified four distinct "travel tribes" in its Future Traveler Tribes 2020 report, developed by the Henley Center HeadlightVision, a global futures consultancy. This emerging tribes have the potential to transform how the airline industry delivers products and services. These tribes include:
- Global Executives: elite business travelers that want a private jet type experience, predominantly from emerging economic markets such as Brazil, Russia, India and China.
- Active Seniors: the wealthy, healthy older travelers, aged between 50 and 75, that will continue to travel for cultural and leisure pursuits.
- Cosmopolitan Commuters: those that live in one city but work in another and will use air travel to commute.
- Global Clans: people that will increasingly use air travel to visit increasingly dispersed extended family members.
"The time of one-size-fits-all travel is over. Airlines who don't decide their strategy to provide personalized services for these growing traveler tribes will lose out" said Frederic Spagnou, Amadeus vice president airline business group. "With the intelligent implementation of technology, much of which is around today already, companies can harness their potential more effectively and provide a more comfortable and targeted service for their customers", he stated.
