Is Daughter of Korean Air Chairman to Be His Successor?

Korea is speculating whether Cho Huyun-ah, the eldest daughter of Hanjin Group Chairman Cho Yang-ho is taking over control of her fathers conglomerate, that owns Korean Air. It would be the first father-to-daughter transition in the control of a big Korean company.

Cho Hyun-ah, the eldest daughter of Hanjiin Group works at Korean Air as a deputy managing director. The chairman also has a son working at his company. The youngest child, a daughter, is not on the Hanjin payroll reports Korea Times.

Cho puts top priority to her career, she said to reporters at a regional conference of IFSA on Cheju Island. Cho said she would actively monitor the in-flight services of other air carriers to upgrade Korean Air's services.

Among the grandchildren of the late Hanjin Chairman Cho Joong-hoon, she is the oldest and positioned at the most senior level among those working in the group.

Cho majored in hotel business administration at Cornell University before she entered Korean Air in 1999.
